Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026
What this is
This Cookie Policy explains how BESPIQUE LIMITED ("Bespique", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on bespique.com (the "Platform"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We use cookies to make the Platform work, to understand how it's used, and (with your consent) to personalise your experience. You can change your preferences at any time — see "Your choices" below.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember things — like that you're logged in, what's in your basket, or what language you prefer. We also use similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags) for the same purposes; in this Policy, "cookies" includes all of them.
Cookies can be:
- First-party — set by us (bespique.com)
- Third-party — set by other companies whose tools we use (e.g. Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for security)
- Session — deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent — stay on your device for a defined period
How we use cookies
We group cookies into four categories:
1. Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential to operate the Platform — they let you log in, place an Order, pay securely, and prevent fraud. Without them, the Platform won't work properly. They do not require your consent under UK law (PECR regulation 6(4)).
2. Functional
These remember choices you've made (e.g. preferred language, recently viewed items) so we can give you a better experience. We only set these with your consent.
3. Analytics
These help us understand how the Platform is used (which pages are popular, where people drop off in checkout, what devices they use). The data is aggregated and used to improve the Platform. We only set these with your consent.
4. Marketing
These are used to deliver advertising relevant to you on Bespique and other sites, and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. We only set these with your consent.
Cookies we currently use
| Provider | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bespique | Strictly necessary | Authentication — keeps you signed in and protects login forms | Session, up to 30 days |
| Bespique | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie preferences | 12 months |
| Cloudflare | Strictly necessary | Bot management, security challenges, and DDoS protection | Session to 30 days |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Strictly necessary | CAPTCHA challenge to prevent account and form abuse | Session |
| Stripe | Strictly necessary | Payment processing and fraud prevention | Session to 1 year |
| Bespique | Functional (consent) | Remembers preferred language and recently viewed Products | 30 days to 12 months |
This list reflects cookies set at the time of writing. We may add or remove cookies as we evolve the Platform. If we add cookies in a new category (e.g. marketing pixels for an advertising campaign), we will request your consent before they are set.
Cookieless analytics
We use a privacy-friendly first-party analytics service to understand aggregate site usage (page views, performance, country-level traffic). This service is cookieless — it does not store any cookies, local storage, or other data on your device. Visitors are identified only by a one-way hash of the request, calculated server-side, that cannot be linked back to you. Because nothing is stored on your device, this falls outside the cookie-consent rules under PECR. We rely on legitimate interests under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f) for the limited processing involved.
Your choices
Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Each browser is different — see:
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break some Platform functions (e.g. you won't be able to stay logged in or check out).
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported by your browser. A GPC signal is treated as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies.
Third-party cookies and international transfers
Some of the cookies above are set by service providers (Cloudflare, Stripe, Vercel) which are located in or transfer data to countries outside the UK, including the United States. These transfers rely on the safeguards described in section 8 of our Privacy Policy (UK adequacy decisions, IDTA, SCCs + UK Addendum, or other Article 46 safeguards).
You can review the third-party providers' own cookie / privacy notices:
- Cloudflare: https://www.cloudflare.com/cookie-policy/
- Stripe: https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal
- Vercel: https://vercel.com/legal/cookie-policy
Legal basis
We use cookies under the following legal bases:
- Strictly necessary cookies: PECR regulation 6(4) — no consent required.
- Functional, analytics, and marketing cookies: PECR regulation 6(1) — your consent, as collected via the cookie banner.
- Where personal data processed via cookies falls within UK GDPR, the corresponding lawful basis is set out in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add, remove, or change cookies, or when the law changes. The current version is shown at the top of this document. Material changes will be notified via a Platform notice.
